4K120 4:2:0 and 8K30 4:2:0
The highest resolutions/frame rates that fit through 18 Gbps — only with 4:2:0 8-bit colour.
What is it?
HDMI 2.0 can carry 4K at 120 Hz or 8K at 30 Hz if colour is reduced to 4:2:0 8-bit — that keeps the data rate inside 18 Gbps. This is different from true HDMI 2.1 4K120 (which allows 4:4:4 10-bit and VRR at up to 48 Gbps).
Why it matters with the HDfury Vertex²
The HDfury Vertex² can pass these 18 Gbps-compatible high-refresh formats (Xbox One X 1440p120, PC 4K120 4:2:0) and from firmware 0.60 advertises 1080p120 and 1440p120 in Automix EDIDs. For 4K120 4:4:4 gaming from a PS5/Xbox Series X you need an HDMI 2.1 device such as the HDfury VRROOM.
How to use it on the Vertex²
Enable the resolution on your PC/console; the Vertex² detects it automatically. Check the OLED RX line to confirm the format; use Custom EDID 4 (Q9FN ALLM VRR HDR10+) or Automix for consoles.
