LLDV (Low-Latency Dolby Vision)
Dolby Vision tone-mapped by the player and sent as 12-bit 4:2:2 — usable on any HDR10 display via the Vertex².
What is it?
In LLDV mode the source (Apple TV 4K, Shield Pro, Xbox, Oppo, Sony/Panasonic players) does the Dolby Vision composition and tone mapping itself, using the display limits (primaries, min/max nits) it reads from the EDID. It then sends an ordinary 12-bit YCbCr 4:2:2 signal with a PQ curve. It was designed for gaming (no extra TV processing) — but it also means an HDR10-only display can show the result.
Why it matters with the HDfury Vertex²
By presenting a custom Dolby Vision EDID block, the HDfury Vertex² makes the player output LLDV for a projector or TV that has no Dolby Vision at all, and adds an HDR10 infoframe so the display switches to HDR. Result: dynamic, per-scene tone mapping on JVC/Sony/Epson projectors and every Samsung TV. The OLED shows 'LLDV' on the RX line when it works.
How to use it on the Vertex²
Quick route: Web server → EDID → Custom → EDID 10 (Sony A1 LLDV BT2020). Tunable route: Automix + 'Custom DV string', then HDR/DV → DV datablock creator (interface 'Low Latency 12-bit 4:2:2', primaries, Tmax/Tmin) and tick 'Use custom HDR for TX0/TX1 when input is LLDV'.
