EDID
The 'ID card' a display sends to a source listing what it can do — the Vertex² lets you rewrite it.
What is it?
EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) is a 256-byte table stored in every display. When a source connects it reads the EDID to learn supported resolutions, refresh rates, colour formats, HDR/Dolby Vision support and audio formats, and picks its output accordingly. If the EDID is wrong or incomplete (very common through AVRs and matrices) the source falls back to a worse format.
Why it matters with the HDfury Vertex²
EDID management is the heart of the HDfury Vertex²: each of the four inputs can present its own EDID from 100 tables (10 custom slots, 90 pre-made), copy the EDID of the display on TX0 or TX1, use a safe fixed EDID, or build one dynamically (Automix). This is how you force 4:4:4, lock a source to 4K24, hide HDR, add Dolby Vision (LLDV) or make an AVR think the TV supports Atmos.
How to use it on the Vertex²
OLED menu → EDID MODE, or web server → EDID tab: Copy TX0 / Copy TX1 / Fixed / Custom (per-input dropdown) / Automix. Download the active EDID of any port, upload your own .bin into a custom slot, and press Send. Restart the source after changing an EDID.
