ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode)
A flag from a console that tells the TV to switch to game mode automatically.
What is it?
ALLM is an HDMI 2.1-era feature (also on HDMI 2.0 TVs like Samsung Q9FN) signalled in the HF-VSIF infoframe: when a console or PC starts a game, the TV switches to its low-lag game picture mode by itself, and back to movie mode afterwards. VRR (variable refresh rate) is its sibling.
Why it matters with the HDfury Vertex²
The HDfury Vertex² detects ALLM (shown on the OLED RX line and OSD), passes it to the display, and since firmware 0.49 has an ALLM control section: force ALLM on or off, or follow the source, per input — useful when a TV goes into game mode for a media player that sets the flag incorrectly.
How to use it on the Vertex²
Web server → EDID → ALLM flag (advertise support to the source); web server → HDR/DV or CONFIG → ALLM control: Follow / Force ON / Force OFF per input. Custom EDID 4 (Q9FN ALLM VRR HDR10+) includes it.
