xvYCC
Sony's extended colour standard from the HDMI 1.3 era, still passed by the Vertex².
What is it?
xvYCC (x.v.Color) is an extended-gamut YCbCr encoding introduced with HDMI 1.3 that allows colours outside BT.709. It was used by some camcorders and PlayStation 3 titles and is largely superseded by BT.2020, but many AVRs and TVs still list it.
Why it matters with the HDfury Vertex²
The HDfury Vertex² passes xvYCC signalling through and can advertise it in Automix EDIDs, so legacy sources that require the flag keep working. The RS232 macro page also has an x.v.Color content trigger for projector picture-mode switching.
How to use it on the Vertex²
No setting required; check the AVI infoframe decode on the HDR/DV page to see if a source flags xvYCC.
