Matrix vs. splitter vs. switcher
Splitter = one source to two displays; matrix = two different sources to two displays at once.
What is it?
A switcher selects one of several inputs. A splitter copies one input to several outputs. A matrix routes any input to any output independently, so two displays can show two different sources simultaneously. The Vertex² is a 4×2 matrix: four inputs, two independent video outputs (plus a third HDMI output for audio only).
Why it matters with the HDfury Vertex²
In matrix mode the HDfury Vertex² processes two 18 Gbps streams at once — film on the projector from the disc player while the kids game on the TV from the console — with individual scaling and HDCP conversion per output. In splitter mode both outputs get the same source, each still scaled to its own capability.
How to use it on the Vertex²
Web server → INFO → Port selector: choose the input for TX0 and TX1 (or 'follow'). Same input on both = splitter. Buttons OUT0/OUT1, IR, RS232 'set insel', IP or the app do the same.
