HDMI Audio out (720p/1080p audio-only output)

The third HDMI output: any audio format, wrapped in a simple 1080p picture, for any AVR.

What is it?

HDMI audio cannot travel without video, so the Vertex² generates its own 720p or 1080p black video stream and attaches to it the audio from the selected input (or from ARC/eARC). Because the video is only 1080p, even an HDMI 1.3/1.4 receiver without 4K or HDCP 2.2 support accepts it.

Why it matters with the HDfury Vertex²

This is how you keep a beloved older AVR: 4K HDR goes straight to the display from TX0/TX1, and the receiver only ever sees a 1080p signal carrying full Atmos/DTS:X. It also isolates the AVR from the video chain, which removes handshake and HDCP problems and lets Dolby Vision or LLDV bypass an AVR that would strip them.

How to use it on the Vertex²

Connect the AVR to the 'AUDIO OUT 720p/1080p' port. Web server → CONFIG → audio out format 720p/1080p, mute timing (for AVRs that switch decoders slowly). EDID audio flag 'Audio System / Audio out' makes the source send what the AVR supports.
